U12 Girls - Blacks
vs Reading A - 7-2
Determination and focus abounded as the Black team arrived in Reading looking to avenge the narrow defeat last weekend. Q1 was goal-less and also penalty corner-less, despite five circle penetrations. Qs 2 and 3 saw some of the best team play of the season as Winchester raced into a 4-1 lead in the middle of this spell. Playing round the back then forward fast looked great, as did recognising crowded channels and recycling the ball to less busy areas. Sound defensively, the right wing attack play was impressive many times. The goal of the season arrived with a V transfer, right wing cross over passing interchange and a back post cross for a sharp finish. Winchester were now really on top and dominated a tiring Reading in the last 15 minutes. The team scored a notable great corner deflection towards the end, illustrating the importance of outcomes in the circle. Superb play Black team - classy to watch.
