Men's 1st XI vs Slough

Two sides battling for survival at the bottom of the South Central Premier division one produced and end to end chaotic game.

Winchester took the lead in quarter two with a classy George Allmark finish, pushing high from midfield.

Will Leyland flashed a reverse stick past the far post with Winchester breaking fast and looking dangerous.

Slough had plenty of first half chances with right wing interplay and clever aerials their main threat.

They equalised from a deflected left wing baseline entry for a 1-1 draw at half time.

The main difference in the sides which had a high number of circle entries each was in the penalty corner count. Slough had a lot while Winchester’s sole PC was in the last five minutes of the match. Will Leyland drawing a great save from a fierce flick.

By this point the away side conceded yet another Slough PC with ten minutes left, which they slotted past Seb Eaton who had been immense up until this point.

James Pawley made some super attacking passes and Jonah Graham showed his pace down the left to good effect.

Winchester played well at times but need to reflect on how to achieve better interplay in the final 3rd of the pitch. A win is coming which will help confidence enormously.
